Worserer and Worserer

As you probably know, I've had a few issues with my computer. The cord I ordered online came in. Yay! Well, momentary Yay!

I plugged it in, turned it on and waited through the warm up drill. The little power icon showed it happily charging ... for about 2 minutes. Then it showed it running on battery power - which is limited and fading fast. I tried plugging it in again, tried the cord at various angles, ... Nothing. Nada. Zip.

Sadly, I trudged up to the store and talked to the techie guy, who said, "Hmmm." Never good. He's assuming there's something wrong inside the computer - but one of the joys of living in small city Northern Ontario is that there are no local techie people for these companies. So, the laptop has been packaged up and sent on its merry way. Hopefully the guys in Techie Land are kind and quick. The laptop is still under the extended warranty, so that's a plus, but it could be a month before it finds its way back to me. *sigh*

I'm on a borrowed computer for a couple of hours, so I'll try to visit some of your blogs, but I'm afraid I'm down and out for a while yet.

Keep track of all your good news to let me know when I come back!

Anyway, good luck Jemi, I know how annoying it can be.

Your laptop doesn't like you - and that's just wrong.

Sorry to hear this, Jemi. By any chance is your laptop an HP? My husband had the worst time with his battery and with the machine overheating. I hope the warranty comes to the rescue!

Hope it gets fixed! Nothing worse than comp problems in this day and age! LOL

I hope it gets fixed soon! I might seriously have a mental break down without my laptop.

Like, I think sedation and a trip to "that" ward in the hospital might be warranted.

Stephanie Thornton said...

That is definitely lame. I hope it gets fixed and you have a shiny new computer ASAP!

Lynda R Young as Elle Cardy said...

Yikes, never a good thing to lose a computer to sickness. I wouldn't have a clue what to do if my computer got sick except to hand it over to my hubby who works magic on it and, tada, it's fixed.

Leslie S. Rose said...

I think you have a computer curse. Better chant with herbs or something.

Sage Ravenwood said...

(Major Hugs) I would be all antsy and OCD by now. Here's to hoping they fix your baby quickly and get it returned to you ASAP. (Hugs)Indigo

That SUCKS! One reason why I bought an iPad is so I would have a backup device in case my computer suddenly went belly-up. *knocking on wood* :)

Golden Eagle said...

I hope they send it back to you soon!

Hey Jemi,
I'm very sorry to hear about your problems with the dreaded beast that is a computer. Hope you get it sorted soon.
And never, ever worry about visiting or commenting on, my shy, humble and unassuming blog. No, don't worry about visiting the Canadian dude living in England and telling the folks in England how awesome Canada is eh :)
And even Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star, loved and adored by billions, wishes you the very best and a bit of happy writing.
In kindness, Gary and co-starring Penny :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Susan - thanks. I hope it's back soon too! :)

Dianne - I hope it doesn't come to that! Although it wouldn't doubt it!

Stephanie from your words to the techies gods' ears!!

Lynda - maybe I should borrow your hubby's! Mine can fix anything in the house ... Except comPuters!

Jemi Fraser said...

Leslie - now THAT'S something I haven't tried yet. Hmm... I wonder which herbs would be best :)

Indigo - thanks! I need those hugs! I'm definitely going a little squirrley!

DL - I wish I could justify the expense! I'd love to have an iPad!!!

Golden Eagle - thanks! Me too!!

Gary & Penny - thanks so much! I hope all is well with you both across the pond! I'll pop by and visit when I can!

How horrible, Jemi. We're so attached to staying connected these days. I don't know how I'd handle this. I hope Technie Land is kind and quick for you.

I've had such computer woes in the past. Once I ordered a desktop computer, and it didn't work! Had to ship the whole thing back. I prefer to buy directly from a store, which I did this last time. I do hope you get your computer back soon, and that the whole process turns out to have been "kind." !!!

Ann - that is awful! I can't imagine having a new pc not work! We live in a small city & none of the stores do repairs of this magnitude locally. They all send them away sigh
