Of You and I

I believe in the power of you and I

I love the Olympics - always have. Life gets put on hold for me when the Olympics are on. I loved sports as a kid and played many of them. None of them to any extraordinary level of achievement, but enough that sports are important to me.

Our Canadian television stations have worked together to coordinate coverage and we've seen an incredible amount of events. The Canadian theme song of the Olympics is I Believe. We see daily montages of athletes striving to this music every day. I know I'm a total sap, but these things can move me to tears. There is so much aout the Olympics I believe in.

Believing is important.

In sports, in our careers, in our families. In our dreams.

There has been a lot of good news lately over at Agent Query Connect (if you're an aspiring writer and don't know this site, get thee hither!). Lots of folks getting agents & deals, pubbing, making the NYT bestseller lists.

Yesterday the wonderful RC Lewis announced an incredible deal. I don't think I could be any more excited. RC is one of 'those' people. You know the ones. Smart, kind, generous, funny, talented. I'm still smiling this morning for her.

So, let's all channel that Olympic spirit. Let's believe in the power of you and I.

Any good news you're excited about? Are you a fan of the Olympics? Do you Believe?

I've enjoyed the Olympics. Yes, women's beach volleyball more than I should, but we were watching history when Misty and Kerri won their third consecutive Gold.

I love the Olympics too and we've been watching a lot of the summer games this time around. I haven't been over to Agent Query in a while but the news sounds great. I'll have more time for my first love as soon as this garden business is done.

Jemi Fraser said...

Elizabeth - having it a family affair makes it a lot of fun. My family gets much more involved in the winter Olympics :)

Yvonne - me too! Your garden takes up an enormous amount of time - it's so hard to fit it all in, isn't it? :)

Usain Bolt fascinated me this year. Boy can that guy run. What a legend.

Jemi Fraser said...

Michael - no kidding! He's a joy to watch and he runs with such exuberance! Hoping they pull off the 4x4 later on too!! :)

If we don't believe in ourselves, we can never achieve our dreams.

I've really enjoyed the Olympics this year. I still remember watching Nadia get those 7 perfect 10s.

Belief is a must. I've watched some of the Olympics. Each event I've watched as been totally inspiring. We must believe to achieve our dreams.

Happy Weekend!

Jemi Fraser said...

Diane - I agree! And those Nadia moments really were perfection! :)

Carol - belief is the grounding for our dreams for sure. The athletes are so incredible - one amazing story of belief after another. Love it all!

Believing is so important. I am having a hard time believing in myself which why I think it has taken me so long to get where I am.

I love the Olympics as well. I admire those athletes and their will to overcome. So inspiring.

I'll have to check out that site right now. :)

Melissa - me too. Taking those steps is scary! I love the Olympics - the athletes are amazing!

I have to admit that I'm not much of a sports fan. I'll be glad when normal TV programmes return.

DEZMOND said...

ah, Olympics were very sad for my country this year, we won only two medals :( and we're considered a sports nation :(

Jemi Fraser said...

Rosalind - my hubby's kind of tired of it all too - but I could watch it forever! :)

Dezzy - some countries dominate the medal count - but so much of it is about personal bests and just being there! Still a few days left!

I definitely believe. :) There's all sorts of amazing things waiting to happen for the hard workers, the dreamers, the won't-give-up-ers. :) I haven't been able to watch much of the Olympics, but I sure like all the positive attitudes I've seen surrounding it. :) It's like the whole world is in a little bit better of a mood.

Anita said...

Amen, woman! I believe...thanks for the reminder that that's what's needed sometimes.

Jemi Fraser said...

Bethany - I agree! The Olympics often bring out the best in people. I love the way so many best get to really let their hearts shine!

Anita - you're welcome! Belief is integral to success in any venture at all! :)

Love, love, love the Olympics. Always have and now even more because the past winter Olympics inspired my daughter to find an exercise practice that helped her heal from a terrible back injury.
So much inspiration comes from those athletes.

Jemi Fraser said...

Tricia - That's awesome about your daughter. I find high level athletes so impressive. Their dedication is incredible. :)

I've only been watching a bit of the Olympics. I don't feel like I should be watching too much TV at this time of year! And to me, the Vancouver Olympics were so great that it would be hard to top them. Still, I happened to be watching the women's trampoline finals and was thrilled with Rosie's gold!

Jemi Fraser said...

Beth - I've had the Olympics on in the background whenever I'm inside :) I was thrilled for Rosie too - what a great routine! :)

Jess - thank you! That's exactly it - joy is contagious! :)

Deniz Bevan said...

I hope so!! I've been getting discouraged with querying. It's so hard to hit just the right note in the letter...

Jemi Fraser said...

Deniz - querying stinks. It's so hard because it's subjective and I think timing has an incredible amount to do with it. And writing a great query letter isn't the easiest part of the process either. :)
