Sigh

In my last post, I talked about how hard it was to get chunks of time to write in January.

It's about to get worse. I've been working with a damaged computer cord and duct tape for a bit. No one in town sells a cord that matches. I've ordered one on-line, but they could only tell me it would be here before February 12th. And I'm down to 30 minutes of battery life. *sigh*

I'll try to keep up on my iPod, but I'm really slow using it. So, my apologies if I don't get to visit your blogs for a few weeks. Hope to be back soon!

That's like two weeks! Tell them you can't live that long without your computer.

Alex isn't exaggerating! :)

Good luck getting it fixed. Computer problems are so frustrating!

I thought duct tape could fix anything. Hope it holds out for a little bit longer.

Alex - I did! Sadly, they didn't seem to care :(

DL - I know. And I'm already frustrated with my poor iPod - although I'm glad I have it!

Beth - thanks! I hope it doesn't take too long!

Susan - sadly it's done. Can't even get a glimpse of power! Hoping that cord rushes to me!

I would go crazy without my computer. Hopefully they can get the cord to you faster than their original estimation. (Hugs)Indigo

Find an e-mail address for the person you talked to and post it here. We'll all tell them how badly you need your computer and that you need it NOW not in 2 weeks.

Oh no!!!!!! That's awful! It's horrible how connected we've become. When we lose our internet service for like...an hour...you'd think we were stranded on a deserted island with no food or water. Gah! Good luck.

Jemi Fraser said...

Julie- I agree! It's going to be a long couple of weeks :( hopefully it's not that long!

Jemi Fraser said...

Hmmm... Apparently I don't do this very well. One of my comments disappeared.

Indigo - I'm already going a little nuts and it's only been a few hours! I hope I get it sooner!

Mason - that's a really good idea! If I don't get it soon, maybe I'll give that a try!!

Oh god I wish we lived closer as we might have the one you need just to change up your batteries.

Hang on in there, we hear waiting for you.

I was out of touch at my daughter's for one weekend and it made me nervous! Of course, I did get some painting done, and played some scrabble and read. She didn't even have a tv. Come to think of it....it wasn't so bad.

But I'll miss you so reinforce that duct tape!

Maybe an arrival date of the 12th is a worst-case scenario and it will come sooner. Hope so!

My laptop cords do that all the time, and my husband's never do! I'm not sure why mine always get frayed, but I've gone through several by now. (I think it's because the dog sits on my cord sometimes). Anyway, we always order online and I don't think I've ever had to wait that long. I hope yours gets there fast!

Hi, Jemi. Sorry to hear about your computer cord. Hope the new cord arrives faster than they are predicting.

Kelly Polark said...

Oh, man! Try outlining or writing in a notebook in the meantime???

I have hardly written the last few months. But just because of lack of time (and energy). I will do better in February!

Good luck!

Jemi Fraser said...

Jeremy - thanks! Me too :)

Yvonne - Thanks - hopefully it won't be too long!

Old Kitty - I hope it comes soon too! I'm going to try getting in some writing time :)

Narmada - thanks! You'd think with all the cords in my house, one of them would fit but no luck!

Jemi Fraser said...

Elliot - thanks! They're great when they work!

Yvonne - that's really out of touch! I've never gone without it all! I'm so glad I've got the iPod at least!

Elizabeth - I'm really, really hoping for that! :)

Susan - that gives me hope! Maybe mine will come back early!!

Jemi Fraser said...

Susanne - thanks! I'm really hoping it comes in early!

Kelly -my last two months have been crazy chaos too! I was hoping for a better February but it's not looking great! I did get in a few hand written pages though!

Shelley Sly said...

Oh no! I hope that power cord comes soon. I'd be devastated without my computer...

Jemi Fraser said...

Shelley - thanks! I hope it's soon too. Sadly, I've been through this a few times before & it always drives me nuts!

Duct tape is amazing. But I'm so sorry to hear of such troubles. Sounds like you're coping as well as you can. Keep smiling! Or laughing. Laughter is good medicine. Maybe watch a funny movie....

Jemi Fraser said...

Ann - great advice! I'm coping - but it's so frustrating!!! I'll have to dig out one of my fave movies - maybe a Lord of the Rings marathon :)

Theresa Milstein said...

Jemi, I'm so sorry. We went through something similar at our house. We kept buying plugs on ebay. Now we can't even get it to charge and it holds no more battery.

Hope you find a way to write soon.

Jemi Fraser said...

Theresa - thanks! I hope your computers are okay now. It's so frustrating! I have tried writing by hand - and it's not bad!! :)

Talli Roland said...

Oh no, Jemi! Hope you get it all sorted soon!

Amie Kaufman said...

Oof, how frustrating! Perhaps that hand writing will pan out for you in the meantime. It does keep you away from blogs and twitter!

Jemi Fraser said...

Talli - thanks! I was hoping the cord would come before the weekend, but no luck!

Amie - that is an advantage -but I'd still rather have my cord!

Nas said...

Hope you get your cord fast! Computer cords and battery life? Ugh!

Jemi Fraser said...

Donna - thanks! But it's not good news. I'll update the blog in a bit, but I've had to send the entire computer away now. *sigh* It might be a month!!! :(

Leslie S. Rose said...

Oh, no. Sending your computer away is like sending your child off to boarding school. Fingers crossed that time and a healthy computer are in your immediate future.

Jemi Fraser said...

Leslie - that's it exactly!! I'm really hoping it doesn't take the full month - hopefully the techie guys in Repair Land are being kind to me :)

Lisa Gail Green said...

Jemi - I hope everything gets better for you. Without the downs there would be no ups right? ;D It's been slow going for me too. So much going on in my "other" life. But a few minutes to recharge with writing here and there make all the difference. Pen and paper if you have to!

Jemi Fraser said...

Lisa - I've never tried pen and paper ... Until last week. It's going much better than I expected!
