Hmmm ... Cookies!

"C is for Cookie & that's good enough for me!"
Don't you just love Cookie Monster? :)

Thank you!!! I didn't feel like a complete loner or loser over at From the Write Angle the other day. As promised here are those virutal chocolate chip cookies!!

Okay, okay ... I didn't make these. But I promise, my own look very much the same. :)

While I was Googling images, I found this...

Yup. Those are candles!
And this...

Yup. That's a ring!
And even this...

Yup. That's bacon. Really. There's even a recipe.
Really.
Yuck.

So, what cool things have you found Googling lately???

In slightly more frustrating news, my laptop cord has stopped working & I don't know if it's the cord or the laptop. I can't take it in until at least tomorrow night. Hopefully it's a simple fix & I'll be back soon. If not, I hope you'll understand. I'll try to keep up on my iPod, but I'm really not very good at that! I'll be reading your comments though & I'll catch up when I can. I'm powering down now to try to save the battery! At least I was able to do a full back up on the external drive!!

Wish me luck!

Thinking about Food

Food!

We need it, we eat it, we cook it. Well, I think most of us do anyway :)

So, do your characters cook?

My male MC is not a good cook, but he likes inventing - and eating - enough to give it a shot. My female MC isn't any better. They live in Steampunk England and mostly live off what they buy at the markets. They do take turns cooking the basics and doing the clean up, but they never graduate to anything fancy.

This happens for a few reasons. They're busy investigating murders, they're teens on their own, they don't have a lot of money, they don't have a kitchen -- just a few "appliances" they've created to cook. And ... they don't really like cooking.

Which is odd because I do like to cook. I enjoy trying something new, testing out new recipes in both cooking and baking. Nothing fancy, but I like the entire experience.

But these 2 characters don't share my interest. Hmmm.

So, do you and your characters share the same attitudes towards cooking? Towards food in general? Or do they even get to the kitchen at all?

On a related note, Calista Taylor - known to most of us from her blog A Steampunk Reverie - has started a new blog. It's all about food!! Calista's a great cook and her recipes are delicious. She cooks with food I have on hand and her directions are great - she is a writer after all! If you're looking for some great recipes - or just want to drool a little - check out A Writer Cooks!
