Am I Stalking you Properly?

Seriously. Sort of :)

I have a few followers whose photos don't link to their blogs or websites. A few of these fine folks I can link to if they leave a comment. I have no idea why I can link to things from the name, but not link to things from the photo. *sigh* I do wonder sometimes how Blogger really feels about me.

I think I have most or all of your blogs on my blog roll. That's what I use to check out your blogs, so if I don't have you on my list, PLEASE let me know.

I'm also on Twitter as @jemifraser. Maybe not the most exciting @name in the Twitterverse, but I'm usually easy to find :) If we haven't linked up on there, please leave me your Twitty name. I'm not the most consistent Tweeter (Twit???) in the T'verse, but I do tend to pop on for a little bit most days.

I have a few more thank yous to catch up on.

VR Barkowski awarded me the Stylish Blogger Award. Love the graphic on this one! Makes me feel under-dressed in my comfy pjs & no socks.

Nicole Ducleroir at One Significant Moment at a Time and Shelley Sly at Stories in the Ordinary both awarded me the Awesome Sauce Award. Makes me want to go whip up a pot full of awesome!

If you haven't checked out these ladies and their wonderful blogs, do it as soon as you can. Hurry! The longer you wait, the more you're missing!

I wanted to do the whole Carbon-Neutral Blog thing on Earth Day, but without a computer, it was too hard. So as of now, I'm fulfilling the conditions. I chose the pretty pink leaf because it matches the blog :) Please check out this link to find out how to make your blog carbon neutral. These nice folks will plant a tree in order to combat the energy required to run your blog. We also planted several trees here on Earth Day. Hopefully you managed to do your thing to make this planet a little better and a little brighter. It's so important to make every effort we can. We have to make up for all of the destruction our species has caused. Education is the key - the more we know, the more we can do.

So, can you tell I'm in catch-up mode? That was a pretty eclectic blog post :) Don't forget to check the blog roll to see how my stalking is coming along! :) The easiest way to do this is to use the Edit button on your tool bar. Click on the Find on This Page link - then type in your blog name. If you don't show up, please let me know!

  2. I've noticed some of those untrackable followers as well. I've sometimes thought I'll return the favor by following their blog but alas no blog to link to. Oh well, another mystery.

Think about the May 17th Favorite album post. No big advance planning required-- just post spontaneously if you like. After all it's just an opinion thing that doesn't have to be definitive or anything. Just something to give us an idea of some music you like or has influenced you in some way. Just jump in when it's time and connect your post to the Linky and there you go. Think about it.

  3. Arlee - I will definitely think about it. In fact I've put a title in as a draft blog so I don't forget :) I'll know closer to the date! Thanks!

  4. Madmother - :( indeed! I'll see if I can remedy that right now!!

  5. I think you're doing all right on the stalking, good lady. At least, you comment on my blog now and then, and I classify that as effective stalking. Well done!

    ;)

  6. Thanks Simon - always glad to stalk your blog :)

  7. Feel free to stalk anytime! You follow my blog, but it didn't link to your blog when I clicked on your name. But I was able to click from your comment, so now I follow you.

  8. You are the best stalker. I'm so impressed you keep up with so many blogs.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Thanks Theresa - I'm glad it's not just me that can't link through all linky things. I don't know why it isn't a little easier and consistent!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Awww - thanks Susan. It's so nice to be a good stalker! (Okay that sounded really weird - but you know what I mean. Right?)

    ReplyDelete
  11. I think you are a wonderful stalker!
(There's a sentence I never thought I would say.)You really do a great job. So glad to be a stalking buddy with you!(Man, this would be strange for a non-blogger to hear.)

  12. Alyson - lol :) It does all sound a little creepy doesn't it? But we know we're completely normal... Don't we?? :)

  16. I am in catch up mode too! Gotta love it!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm trying to catch up. I feel so behind on reading other's blogs. On twitter, I'm mmcdonald64

I'm not there a whole lot, but I'm slowly learning how it works.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Jessica - ain't life grand? :) Catching up is not my favourite thing - I HATE being behind!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Congratulations on the awards. You deserve those. Catch-up mode is good sometimes. I feel like I run behind most of the time. I've got to check out the Carbon-Neutral Blog. Sounds like a good thing.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Thanks Mason :)

I hate feeling behind - and I'm so darn busy I should be used to it!!

I like the carbon neutral idea - anything to help the planet!

    ReplyDelete
  22. There are tons of great blogs out there. I do cruise through your list a lot. I'm in the habit of doing more reading then commenting these days. (I get to more blogs) It means less comments on mine, but oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Carolyn - we all have our ways of doing things - I don't think there's any wrong way to blog! Do what works for you :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Congrats on your new awards, Jemi. You gotta love the Awesomesauce Award! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Shannon - thanks so much! And I know - isn't it a great award!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. You're one of my favorite stalkers, and I'm trying to become a better stalker myself. It's a wonderful avocation.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I love it when you come visit my blog. I try my best to stop by yours as often as possible. Stalking this way is pretty awesome. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Congratulations on the awards!

Sometimes, it's difficult for me to do reciprocal following, too, because a person's picture doesn't lead to their blog and they haven't left a comment. I do wish blogger would make it easier to find a follower's blog.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Congrats on all those lovely awards!

I have a hard time following some people too. If their picture doesn't link back to their blog or if they don't comment it can be tricky.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I don't understand why there's sometimes a disconnect between the picture and blog, but it seems to be happening more frequently.

Congrats on your awards and on your carbon neutral blog!

BTW, I'm sure I was wearing comfy pjs and no socks when I wrote the award post for the stylish blogger - so that seems most appropriate.

    ReplyDelete
  31. YOU my dear are the award QUEEN =) Congratulations on all of those!

That awesomesauce award? Makes me HUNGRY!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I agree with Sara. You are the award QUEEN!

    Congrats honey. Again :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Patricia - lol :) That's a statement you can't make just anywhere! Thanks :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Kathi - you have a great blog - I always enjoy the visit :) Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Sandy - thanks :)

I'm a little relieved to hear other people sometimes have troubles too. I thought it was just me Blogger was giving a hard time!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Congrats on the awards!

I'm with the others - I've had a hard time with some profiles, too. I want to follow them back... but I can't. But if they leave a comment, sometimes I can find it that way. Frustrating, because don't want them to think I'm ignoring them!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Thanks Stephanie! I'm relieved to know it's not just me!

    ReplyDelete
  38. VR - good to hear! I'm glad I wasn't letting the award down in any way :) I'm all about comfy! :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Sara - thanks so much :)

That awesome sauce award does have a GREAT graphic, doesn't it? Love it!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Thanks Wendy! You're always so sweet! :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thanks Talli! And you're right - I feel badly when I can't follow them back. There are some profiles with no links listed for them at all. Frustrating!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I sort of like using the word "stalking" instead of "following." (In this situation, anyway.)

I wonder about folks who leave a comment and I click on their name but they have multiple blogs that they participate in and the one that they do alone is dead with just a notice on the dead blog that they've moved, but no link to take me there.

  43. Congrats on your awards! Yes, we are stalking each other just fine. :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. You're nice to try to follow up with everyone! It's hard when there are so many...

    Congrats on the awards!

    Elizabeth

    ReplyDelete
  45. I figured out that if they don't have a "follow me" on their webpage, you can manually add blogspot blogs from your own followers page.

I try to offer as many ways as possible for people to follow or subscribe, but you never know when there will be an incompatibility.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Love being stalked by you, Jemi. Thanks.
    Karen

    ReplyDelete
  47. You are indeed stalking me correctly :) Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Congrats on the awards Jemi!
I used to have an issue with my picture showing up. It was a setting I had to tweek and ever since, it's been working fine. Wonder if that's the problem.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Congrats on your awards, Jemi! And I know what you mean about stalking people properly - I get frustrated when I try to return the follow and their photo doesn't have a link! Grrr ;)

    ReplyDelete
  50. You're totally stalking people the right way. At least I think so. Congrats on your awards!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Congrats! on your awards. I also like to see a person's face when they leave a comment. Or at least an image.

  52. We're definitely stalking each other, Jemi, which is just fine by me. Good to see you back on the internet and congrats on those awards.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Yep, you are an excellent stalker. :)

    ReplyDelete
  54. Welcome back to the cyberworld, Jemi!
    We've missed you!

I could have sworn I was a Follower, but I guess not! I am now part of your minion! :)

    ReplyDelete
  55. Holy blogroll! No wonder you have such a successful blog!

    Congrats on the awards

    ReplyDelete
  56. Helen - exactly - I alwyas feel bad about not following/stalking, but I can't find a correct link!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Aubrie - Good to hear! It's always good when the stalking is up to par :)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Elizabeth - it's hard when the links don't work, but I like trying to follow everyone who drops by :)

    ReplyDelete
  59. Daring - yes - if I can find their webpage/blog, I just add it to the blog roll that way - it's finding the link that's the hard part!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Karen - lol :) Always a pleasure to be a good stalker!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Alexa - thanks for letting me know! Glad to be doing the stalking thing properly :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. Lisa - Thanks :)

Maybe that's it. I don't know enough about Blogger, and I just don't have the extra time to actually study it. That sounds right though!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Julie - exactly! It's hard when you can't find someone's link!

    Thanks :)

    ReplyDelete
  64. Elana - thanks! It's so nice to do something well - even if it is stalking :)

    ReplyDelete
  65. Stephen - I like the faces too - but I'm not going to reveal mine! I'll tell you why someday :)

    ReplyDelete
  66. Rosalind - Thanks - it's fun having good stalking friends :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. Thanks Natalie - it's always good to be good at something :)

    ReplyDelete
  68. Karen - thanks! I didn't realize you weren't a follower either! Funny how that happens :)

    ReplyDelete
  69. Thanks Kirsten - if you ever want to find some terrific blogs to follow, just check out the sidebar. It's full of amazing people :)

  70. Congrats on the fabulous awards!!! Way to get your blog green too! I've been meaning to do it but it always slips my mind when I'm hard at work on the blog front!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Jemi! Holy awards, Batman! Look at all your new shinys! Congrats, girlie! You deserve it! I have not seem the "Awesomesauce" award and I love it! How cool! ;)

  72. Hey. I love the sense of community that can develop within the blogosphere. It can be a great way to exchange ideas, to give support, to do marketing, etc. It can also be difficult if one has many followers and tries building a following by visiting many blogs and regularly corresponding. Soon one is spending all one's time doing just that. Of course there are the one line people, those who jump from blog to blog to maintain a following by leaving one line responses to a posting. I do that myself from time to time, but mostly, I like to give more personal and involved comments.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Jen - yes - it's always hard to get everything done - especially in a timely fashion :) I'm glad I finally did the carbon-neutral thing!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Thanks Hilary - I have some really special and generous friends! :) Don't you just love the awesomesauce award? It's so cool!

    ReplyDelete
  75. Stewart - so true. I try to leave comments that mean something - hopefully I succeed at least some of the time :)

    ReplyDelete
  76. I do the blogroll, too, and I add a snippet so I can see what the post pertains to.

I read what I can, and what sounds interesting, and I comment on what I can, if I have something interesting to say...

On the "not showing up in my blogroll" comment, I'll say this: I believe they have a database that is only updated once every 24hrs or so. Seems new blogs will show up a day later.

Or maybe it has something to do with the latest post.

In any case, I sense a database sync issue causing a lag to adding folks to your blogroll.

    - Eric

  77. Congrats on more warm fuzzy awards. You continue to be an inspiration to us all.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Eric - that sounds very sensible! I don't know enough about the technical aspects, but your theory makes sense. I'll keep trying the links - thanks :)

    ReplyDelete
  79. Thanks so much Cat - you're so sweet :)

    ReplyDelete
  80. I don't know how you keep up with all your commenting and posting. wow! You're a machine! :o)

    ReplyDelete
  81. Niki - lol :) More like sleep-deprived!

    ReplyDelete
  82. I've had several blogger folks tell me they couldn't figure out how to follow me, probably because I log in to it using my Twitter ID. I'd straighten it out, but I don't know how either.

Anyway, I follow you on Twitter! You can find me at: http://www.indiadrummond.com/

    ReplyDelete
  83. Jemi,

You have me! Yay! Though I'm probably one of those weird ones that doesn't match up with my comments. It's frustrating! I can't figure out how to fix it. Oh well. I'm going to go follow you on Twitter now...

    ReplyDelete
  84. Love eclectic posts - sometimes a little bit of random makes my day :)

    ReplyDelete
  85. India - I've got you now - both on the blog roll and on twitter! I don't know how to fix most of these things either :)

    ReplyDelete
  86. Thanks Lisa - I just don't get all the ins and outs and twists and turns of the Blogger mind. It should be straight forward and logical - but it doesn't seem to be! I'm following back on twitter now :)

    ReplyDelete
  87. Belle - I'm like that too. If I can have a bit of random I'm happy. It's that old right brain working again :)

    ReplyDelete
  88. Cheers for randomities on your blog Jemi! heh ;P

I'm most definitely writing a carbon-free post, asap!

See, to put a link in a picture, you might want to look for a widget called "picture". That's what I've used to link back to the generous people who gave me blog awards, heh. (you included, my dear :)

It's a basic widget you'll probably find in the first page. If you have problems finding it, give me a shout out by email that I'll help you out, ok?

Many congrats on more and more blog awards!

Ah, your "stalking" is just fine, IMO. I love your thoughtful comments on Randomities, heh. Err, just one little detail? You have Randomities's old name on your blog roll... not that it makes that much difference, but since you asked. ;)

    All the best, always! :)

    ReplyDelete
  89. Mari - Thanks! I'll check it out. It's all the little tricks I don't always get to know. One of these days I'll sit down and study it.

And I forgot to make the name change *facepalm* I'll change it up in a minute :)

    ReplyDelete
  90. Congrats on your awards!! Don't you hate it when things don't link up?

Here's my info, in case you want it. LOL. :)

    My twitter name is: @kimfranklin25

    Have a great day!!!

  91. Hope it works! :)

And thanks for the name update. You're a doll!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Thanks Kimberly - the link up difficulties drive me crazy. I've got on Twitter now too :)

    ReplyDelete
  93. Mari - Of course! I'm just sorry I didn't get it earlier :)

    ReplyDelete
  94. Hi dear!

I wanted to thank you for pointing me to this wonderful initiative you've joined. Thanks so much!

Also, I'm proud to announce that Randomities is also carbon neutral. Cheers to doing good! :D

  95. Mari - yay!!! I'm glad we're all jumping on board. Anything we can do is helpful. Love it! :)

    ReplyDelete
  96. Jemi,

I don't see that you're stalking me, so please, come on over! I will stalk you as well. Although I can't click follow on this computer or my other blog icon comes up. I'll put you on my sidebar and follow when I get to the other computer. Other computer, other blog, are you now totally confused?

    KarenG

    ReplyDelete
  97. Karen - yup! Totally confused! I wish I'd had another computer to use last month :) I'm on my way to stalking you now!

    ReplyDelete
  98. Great post! Love the carbon neutral blog link! Thanks for sharing ;o) Congrats on the awards.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  99. Thanks Erica! I was kind of excited about the whole carbon neutral thing too. It's nice to know we're helping even if it's just a little bit :)

    ReplyDelete
