I'm a Versatile Slacker

Okay, I've been sitting on awards again. It's been a much busier summer than I expected - a lot of fun, but I'm always running behind. Not a big surprise for the most part. :)

Several people tagged me with the Versatile Blogger Award in the last little bit. This is a fantastic group of bloggers. If you see someone you haven't met yet, click! You won't regret it.

A great big THANK YOU to...
Kathi Oram Peterson at Kathi's Writing Nook
Rosie Connolly at East for Green Eyes
Susan Gourley at Susan Says

Dawn Simon at Plotting and Scheming also passed the Sweet Blog Award my way - love that teddy bear! Thanks so much Dawn!

I'm not going to list the traditional 7 things about me (you're welcome!), but I am going to pass along the awards. Feel free to choose whichever award you prefer (both if you're daring!) and as always these are no pressure awards. Do with them as you will. Or don't. :)

Whew! That's a lot of linkage. Hopefully I don't slack off in notifying everyone... :) Again - check out these links - these are some seriously awesome people!

So what have you been slacking off at this summer?

  1. Jemi, I have been slacking off big time on just about everything. But it's so nice to relax, indulge in reading and writing, and do those things a teacher can't do once school's in session :) Thanks for the post!

  2. Marissa - isn't it fun? :) I think that's exactly my trouble too - during the school year the work week is at least 55 hours long. I'm enjoying this! :)

    ReplyDelete
  3. Aw, thanks, Jemi! If summer isn't for slacking, then what is?

    ReplyDelete
  4. I've got award slacking off to apologise for too. It's been so hectic with my big holida/brother's wedding, writing etc.
I needed the break though. Guess I better tackle that award post at some point soon.
Congrats on all the awesome awards :)

    ReplyDelete
  5. Summer - you're most welcome!

And you're right - in the summer, I guess we're all allowed to lay back a bit :)

    ReplyDelete
  6. Lindsay - you've had so much going on lately! I don't think it's called slacking when you're that busy!

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Not much. Like an octopus, I have grown additional arms and am attacking a growing list of duties!

One pleasurable summer addition has been following Just Jemi!!!
    Blessings, dear one.

  8. Patti - I'm impressed! I need a couple of those extra arms :)

    You're such a sweetie - thanks so much :)

  9. Jemi, Thanks so much for including me in your awesome blogger award list. You know, I think summer is a time for slacking off. It used to be called summer vacation...which implies time off, doesn't it? I'm taking the next few days at folk dance camp to disconnect from everything related to my normal routine and hope I come up energized. Thanks again.
    Karen

  10. Congratulations Jemi!

I've been slacking in everything! Ack:)

    ReplyDelete
  11. Karen - you're so welcome!

Enjoy the dance camp - sounds like so much fun. And I guess as a teacher I still get to call it summer vacation, so I won't feel so bad! :) Thanks.

  12. Tamika - Thanks :)

You're not the only one - we're in pretty good company it seems!

    ReplyDelete
  13. You deserve all the awards you receive. Love your blog and thanks for always visiting mine. :)

    ReplyDelete
  14. Julie - thanks so much! You're such a sweetie. You're welcome - you've got such a nice place to visit!

  15. My living room and kitchen need painting. Badly. I've been slacking off painting them, mostly because moving the furniture is a big job.

  16. Donna - Moving furniture in order to paint is such a pain! My hubby tends to do most of that stuff which I like. :)

    Good luck with it!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Congrats on the awards!
I just wish I'd finish my WIP. I'm not slacking exactly since I work on it a lot but apparently not enough since I'm not done....sigh
I'm glad to hear you had fun this summer. You've earned it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Thanks Tricia :)

Sometimes the story takes so much more time than we imagine. I think it's the nature of the beast - the stories will come when they will :)

  19. Congrats! I'm TRYING to avoid the slacker demon but he's stalking me...

    ReplyDelete
  20. Thanks Laura :)

Those slacker demons are persistent! They just don't give up - good luck with the avoidance :)

  21. My goodness, you're so popular -- congratulations Jemi :-)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Awww - thanks so much Agnes - you're a sweetie :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Jemi, thank you for the Sweet Blog Award. This is the first time I've heard of that award. One of the best things about receiving an award is meeting new bloggers that also got the award. You are a sweetie, yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Helen - you're so welcome! Glad you don't have that one! :)

You're right meeting the new folks is a blast.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Blogging! I've been slacking off at blogging this summer.

Congrats on your awards - those are fun ones! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Shannon - thanks :)

It is hard to keep up with the blogging too - gotta love summer!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Congrats on your well deserved awards Jemi! You rock!

  30. Laura - you're so welcome! You deserve it :)

    And thanks - you're a sweetie!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Jemi, congratulations on your awards and on getting that off your list! Congrats also to the awardees! :)

    ~that rebel, Olivia

    ReplyDelete
  32. Thanks Olivia - it does feel good to get it off the to-do list! It's always good to do a Check! :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Congratulations on all your awards!

I confess that I've been slacking off on the second book I'm writing, but... it shouldn't last... :]

    ReplyDelete
  34. Congrats to you and the wonderful bloggers you awarded. I know most of them, I'll follow the links and discover the ones that are new to me!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Congrats.

I'm a lawn-slacker. I hate mowing and doing the yardwork. I only mow when I see the HOA-ers slowing down and pointing when they drive by my front jungle.

Then it takes twice as long because the lawn mower keeps bogging down.

    Stupid grass.

    - Eric

    ReplyDelete
  36. Congrats on your awards!

I've been slacking on writing. I did three whirlwind revisions and need a break. But I've read 17 books so far this summer so I'm not a total slacker!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Congrats on the awards and to those you've passed them in to! I have been soooo bad passing on awards. I gotta get with it.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Amanda - thanks :)

This writing biz is sometimes a rollercoaster - not only for highs and lows, but for speeds as well. I bet you're heading back on an upswing :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Thanks Karen.

I know you'll enjoy meeting the new folks - they're all terrific :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Eric - lol :)

The lawn sure does grow at an alarming rate. We had a huge thunderstorm last night. That means the grass will be shooting up to the sky again!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Stephanie - 17 books read is fantastic! What a great way to spend the summer. :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Talli - Thanks!

I know! It's so easy to have them pile up isn't it :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. @ Jemi, congratulations on being a versatile slacker, I mean blog award winner. I'll check out the blogs I don't know.

I've been spending too much time in front of my computer. It's been writing, querying, and blogging related but I feel terrible for not taking out my kids more. I try to do at least one outdoor thing with them everyday. I feel like a terrible mother.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Thanks Theresa!

I hope you enjoy the new links - they're great people :)

It's so hard to find that balance. Summer is slow down time for everyone. I have no doubts you're an excellent mom!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Congrats, Jemi!

I've been slacking off on my writing--and even a little on my reading as well. It's starting to annoy me.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Cleaning my closets. It's much more fun to read blogs, congratulate awesome bloggers and receive awards than it is to go through out-grown clothes and junk drawers!

Thanks for the mention and a huge hug for your well-deserved award.

  47. CONGRATS on your well deserved awardage, my sweet friend. *throw confetti* *blows horns* *snaps pictures*

And THANK YOU (oh boy am I a slacker...I'm so behind on everything) THANK YOU for passing one along to me. I'm flattered and grateful. I know doing all that linkage is a bear. So congrats to all your winners. :)

    Happy Humpday, Jemi!
    Love,
    Lola

  48. Congratulations, Jemi and thanks for including me in your list of worthy bloggers. I appreciate the fun awards and the opportunity to connect up with some of the bloggers from your list that I don't already know. But not this afternoon. I'm now logging off the Internet and opening my manuscript. I'm going to work (for a change).

    ReplyDelete
  49. Congrats on these awards, Jemi!

I am a huge slacker in blogging and writing, and sometimes in household chores. I've been putting off that load of laundry for a few days now...

    ReplyDelete
  50. Congratulations to all award winners. well deserved.

    Yvonne.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Congratulations, Jemi! Very well deserved. Now to add some great looking new-to-me blogs to my feed reader - not sure if I should say thank you for that LOL

    ReplyDelete
  52. Thanks Jemi, you're a sweetheart! And congrats on your multiple awards; as always, they're well deserved.

I'll take the cute bear, since I've just been awarded with the versatile myself. :)

In order not to be a slacker, I'm posting it asap, but I confess I've been procrastinating on my writing these days. Today I've got a good reason for it, but yesterday, for instance, twitter was too shiny, you know? lol *facepalm*

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hey Jemi, you're very welcome and deserving of the award. I've been slacking off on the gardening and weeding. The wild flora is winning and it's not pretty. I've been doing great working on my newest novel but I've been absent on FB.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Jennifer - thanks :)

It's funny how it seems fun to slack for a bit and then it does get annoying. Those characters start hollering to get out.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Cat - you're right! Almost anything is better than cleaning out those closets! My daughter and I attacked our basement a while back - but there's still a spare room and ... those closets!

    Thanks a bunch sweetie :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. Lola - :)

You're such a sweetie! You're so very welcome - and have a great Wednesday!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Patricia - you're so welcome! You're always so kind to everyone.

Have fun with your manuscript - I really have to do the very same thing. :)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Shelley - thanks so much :)

I know about that laundry - it just piles up into mountains when I'm not looking! Stuff of nightmares. *sigh*

    ReplyDelete
  59. Thanks Yvonne! You're always such a doll :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. Belle - lol :) You're right - it's definitely a double edged sword meeting new and terrific bloggers! :)

    ReplyDelete
  61. Mari - thanks & you're so welcome :)

It's funny how small things can distract us from what we really want to do. There are far too many shiny toys to play with!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Susan - thanks again :)

My flowers never seem to win the battles against the weeds. *sigh*

I'm glad your next book is coming along well - that's exciting stuff!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Congratulations on the awards!

I've been slacking off majorly when it comes to awards as well. I really need to fix that. :)

    ReplyDelete
  64. Sandy - Thanks :)

It's so easy to slack off in that department, isn't it :) Thankfully everyone else is understanding!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Enjoy the slacking I say! As for me - well, I've been slacking on just about everything as per my two year old. He, however, does not get slacked on because he won't let me. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  66. Congrats on the awards! It's busy season for us, so as much as I love to slack off, I haven't been able to, except maybe the house doesn't look quite as nice as I like it.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Thanks Kimberly! I think I will for the next couple of weeks anyway. Then school starts back up :)

Having a 2 year old means you don't get much slacking time in the first place. They're so much fun - but they're so much work too! :)

    ReplyDelete
  68. Terry - hopefully you have some slacking time scheduled in the future. :) We all need some downtime and some breathing space once in a while!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Congrats on your awards! And don't worry, you're not the only one slacking on the award giving away. I have so many that I haven't that I'm not sure what I have and have not already given away.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Thanks Kimberly :)

Isn't it crazy. I'm a little (okay maybe a lot...) so I usually keep track in a spreadsheet. Sad I know! :)

    ReplyDelete
  71. Congrats on the awards...and high five to your recipients!! :)

I have more slacking to do.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I've been awful about blog awards!!! Congrats to you and all the winners! I think I need to get a blog post together of all the awesome bloggers and awards!!! Hmm I think Friday is the perfect day :)

    ReplyDelete
  73. Thanks DL! :)

They'll give a big high-5 back I'm sure! Have fun with your slacking :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. Jen - lol :) It's funny how so many of us say the same thing!

Sounds like Friday will be a good day :)

    ReplyDelete
  75. Congrats on your awards and to all the new winners!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Thanks Lydia :) They're all such terrific people!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Congratulations to you and your honorees, Jemi. I see a couple of new links I can't wait to check out. :)

    ReplyDelete
  78. Thanks so much VR :)

They are all amazing people - enjoy!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Most of these people I don't know. I'll check out their sites tomorrow and say hi. Too tired to do it now.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Congrats on the awards, Jemi! You're allowed to be a slacker because you get so many well-deserved awards, it would be very hard to stay on top of them. :o)

Now I'm off to meet a couple new people. Have a great night!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Congrats on your awards and to your recipients! I've actually been working pretty hard on my writing this summer, though right now I have several baskets of unfolded laundry in my room that I washed two days ago, so I guess I'm slacking on housework. :)

    ReplyDelete
  82. Thanks for the award. Greatly appreciate it.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Congrats for the awards Jemi, you really deserved!!
    Most people love you.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Cassandra - you're so very welcome :)

    ReplyDelete
  88. Nensa - thanks so much! You're a sweetie - welcome :)

    ReplyDelete
  89. Congrats on the awards Jemi, just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying your blog! :)

    ReplyDelete
  90. Thanks Lua! That's such a sweet thing to say :)

    ReplyDelete
  91. So hard to keep up with awards sometimes! But congratulations on yours, Jemi!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Thanks Carol - it is hard - but I hate to not acknowledge the fabulous people who thought of me in the first place :)

    ReplyDelete
  93. Yay for awards and congrats to all winners!

    ReplyDelete
  94. Thanks Matthew - they're fun to pass around :)

    ReplyDelete
  95. Good job of compiling all of those links-- I'm usually too lazy to put together that many.

I've been slacking off on a lot lately. I need to start zeroing in.

  96. Arlee - thanks :) It does seem to take forever - I don't do it all the time either.

You don't appear to be slacking off much at all, Lee. You've been doing all that decluttering!

    ReplyDelete
  97. Posting on other people's blogs! My biggest decline this summer has been in this area. I usually get a post up, but am not able to stick around the computer long enough to check out other blogs. It's pretty frustrating.

Oh, and writing, and reading, and exercising...:P

  98. Michele - it's so hard to keep up with everything isn't it? I sometimes feel like I'm caught in a whirlwind :)

Thankfully I enjoy all the things in my whirlwind... wait. I don't enjoy the laundry and the cleaning! :)

    ReplyDelete
  99. Congrats on the awards ;o)

Oh, I've been slacking on blogging big time. This summer has been nuts! I'm just now trying to get back into it. I feel like I missed so much, but sometimes there's no other choice, ya know? It's always nice to get back to the familiar faces, like yours ;o)

Hope the rest of the summer is a blast for all of us ;o)

    ReplyDelete
  100. Erica - thanks!

Summer is all about family and friends and fun - so it's easy to slack off in the blogging department!

Hope you enjoy it too :)

    ReplyDelete
  101. Lynda - Thanks so much! I've got a lot of great people in my corner of the bloggy-verse :)

    ReplyDelete
  102. Sorry I've been a slacker on commenting the last week or so. Vacation/conference season is almost over! Hang in there! And thanks for not giving up on me.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Lisa Gail - I'd never give up on you!! :)

It's so hard to keep up. We all have those mega-crazy times. Mine usually happen around report card time!

    ReplyDelete
  104. I've been slacking off at blogging and reading blogs...

    ReplyDelete
  105. Lisa - lol - seems to be the pattern this summer :) It's SOOOOOO hard to keep up and do all the fun things summer demands. So we just do our best :) Enjoy!

    ReplyDelete
  106. Congratulations on your award...slacker...so cute. Have a great weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  107. Thanks Katie! :)

Enjoy your weekend too - can't wait!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Congrats on the awards. And thanx for the helpful Twitter advice in my blog comments today!!

  110. Congrats on the awards. Slacking off is understandable and sometimes necessary.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Thanks Medeia! I think you're right - we can't keep up with everything all the time ... or at least I can't :)
