Christmas Wishes

Tis the season to wish all of my blogging friends the merriest of Christmases!

Do you know your favourite Christmas present of all time? My beautiful boxed edition of The Hobbit is a close second, but in first place, is a large stuffed dog. Yellow and white. I can still remember the excitement of coming down the stairs and seeing him under the tree. I didn't even look at the tag, I knew he was mine. I'm not sure how old I was, but he was big enough for me to sit astride his back, kind of like a horse. He sat at the end of my bed for years. He was a pillow, a toy, a confidant and a friend. Fluffy hung around for years and years.

I hope your Christmas brings you the same joy Fluffy brought me as a child. Treasure your family, friends and the memories you make. There's really nothing better. Merry Christmas!!

Somehow, the presents from childhood are often the most treasured. Mine is. Mine was a teddy bear that's crying. I saw him in the store and wanted him so much, but my dad said no. Then for Christmas, there he was for me. I got the one crying and my sister got the one with a smile. Every year, Billy Bear wears the Christmas hat at my house.

Helen - Yes, those childhood presents are the best! Billy Bear sounds fabulous - I bet he's made a good friend over the years :)

Nice memory :)

I agree with Helen. My most treasured present was the Anne of Green Gables book box set. I remember seeing the shape of the present under the tree and crossing my fingets and toes it was what I wanted!

Have a Merry Christmas!

Funny, I don't remember the gifts I've received, but two of the best I've ever given my husband were an electric guitar and a VCR. (I'd taken on a part-time just to afford that VCR back in 1989 - we were just dating at the time. He decided after that I was a keeper!)

Carolyn - Oooo! Anne of GG - NICE! Another of my favourites :)

Merry Christmas!

Same to you, Simon! I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season :)

Diane - VCRs were so expensive when they first came out! I remember renting one for the evening. We had to rent 4 movies to go with it & have it all back by 10 in the morning. :)

Smart man, your hubby! Merry Christmas to you & your family :)

My most treasured Xmas gift, was a watch (of all things I know). However, it was given to me by someone very special. I sadly haven't had it in my possession for the past 15 years.

I have never worn a watch since. True. And never will, until I can replace it with exactly the same one.

Merry Christmas my friend X

My favourite Christmas presents have been from my husband. The first when we were very poor eighteen year olds and he got me a photo album with pictures of things we'd done that year in it. And last year when he got me a proper keyboard and monitor to plug into my lap top. I'd just started really trying to write the novel and was so touched that he believed in me.

Merry Christmas! I'm so glad I found your blog this year.

Merry Christmas, Jemi!! Last year, I got all 7 of the English, harback editions of Harry Potter--that was pretty sweet. But I'll also never forget my big Barbie house.

My favorite toys were always the ones that had stickers my Dad had to help me put on...he hated that! :)
Merry Christmas!

My all-time favorite is a stuffed dog, too. His name is Henry, and I got him when I was in 5th grade. He sits in my daughter's room now and watches over her as she sleeps. :)

Suzette - thank you so much! Wishing you the same in return :)

Carol - Wow - both of those are amazing gifts :) I was a huge Barbie fan when I was little! And I'm a Harry Potter fan now, so both would work for me!

Merry Christmas!

Julie - the poor dads! I can just imagine my dad covered with the stickers :)

Shannon - hooray - another dog :) I'm glad you still have Henry. Poor Fluffy met with a horrible accident involving coffee. He never recovered.

Have a great holiday :)

What a lovely post and wonderful memory. Looking back, I think my favorite gift of all time was Spirograph. Wow, I feel really old... :)

Merry Christmas, Jemi!

VR - Oooooo! Don't feel old - well, unless I get to feel old with you :) I LOVED my Spirograph too. My sister and I played with them for hours and hours and hours. So much fun!

Have a wonderful Christmas, VR!
