December

Well, so far my December has been...

this (minus the high heels!)

and this,

and this,

and this

and this too.
I can't wait for more of this,

and this,

especially this,

and maybe even this...

So, how's your December going?

So clever! I love it! My December is (add picture of a train wreck)! :P

Very cute!

School ended for me right before Thanksgiving, so now I just have a full-time job to contend with... and for me, that seems like a vacation! Lots of writing, lots of books so far. Now it's almost time to get serious about cookie-baking and shopping... fun!

LOL--love the photo journal. I can't wait until I get that satisfied Garfield-in-a-box feeling!! (Yep, I'm on the countdown)

Happy holidays!

Wonderful picture story!

Jemi Fraser said...

Beth - now THAT's what I forgot :) Thanks!

Jemi Fraser said...

Guinevere - you're right - just a full time job would be a vacation!! :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Mary - I can't wait to pull a few Garfield moments! There haven't been enough of them lately! :)

Jemi Fraser said...

DL - thanks! Still another week and a half of work to get through first :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Thanks Holly! I'm hoping to actually get some reading and writing time in soon - & if I can add in sleep I'll be in heaven!

I hear ya! Though I'm also like a child at Christmas: I get so excited thinking about the upcoming festivities that it's hard for me to focus on my writing and reading, lol!

Summer Ross said...

Very very cute and creative! I understand completely I just did a whole bunch of wrapping today!

Mason Canyon said...

Love the picture story. If you've got a photo of someone so far behind that when they catch up it will be next Christmas, that's me. LOL

A little less hectic than yours it seems.
Enjoy the quiet when it comes

Jemi Fraser said...

Laura - gotta admit I'm the same! My kids laugh because I'm ALWAYS the first one up Christmas morning - Love it all! :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Summer - thanks :)

I feel like I'm on the treadmill and not quite catching up to 2nd last place yet!

Mary@GigglesandGuns said...

I'm with Mason plus a TON OF SNOW!

I love these kinds of posts. Good job.

Jemi Fraser said...

Mason - love it! That's gotta be me too! Some days it feels like there's not even a chance of catching up, doesn't it? :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Michelle - thanks! I'm not sure I'll know what to do with quiet!! :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Thanks Mary - I think they're fun too! :)

We have the snow so I guess we're all set!

Jennifer Shirk said...

Ha! You're so fun!
I'm looking forward to more zzzzzzzz and more...cookies. LOL

Jemi Fraser said...

Jennifer - thanks!! :)

I'm desperate for more sleep - although I might trade it in if someone made me a cookie too!

Anonymous said...

Mine has been pretty similar, minus anything snowy (darn Florida!).

Jemi Fraser said...

Kelly - I can't even imagine a snowless Christmas! Although I wouldn't mind missing the shovelling :)

Anonymous said...

This just made my day!! Thanks for the sweet moment to smile!

Jemi Fraser said...

Katie - thanks!! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm hoping my wishes come true :)

Fun post Jemi!

Mine has pretty much been the same! And the picture of the Christmas tree is my computer desktop. Love it!

Love the pics. my December apart from having a painful leg which needed injection(which didn't respond) it has been busy.

Yvonne.

Jemi Fraser said...

Lynn - thanks :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Julie - I've always loved that picture of the Christmas tree! I've used it for a variety of things over the past few years - it's gorgeous! :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Yvonne - thanks :)

I hope your leg feels better soon! It's no fun to have pain all the time!

Old Kitty said...

Awwww!! Must have the heels!! Heels must have!

I love this post - it's so me too! With heels and sore feet!!

Have a great Christmas! Take care
x

Jemi Fraser said...

Old Kitty - lol :) I can't stand high heels! I tend to wear my running shoes almost all of the time! :) Hope you have some slow down time too :)

Lola Sharp said...

Mine is going exactly as yours, apparently! :)

Though, high heels have adorned my feet this season...so I'm one up on you. ;)

Happy HoliDAZE!
Love,
Lola

Lola Sharp said...

Oh, I've been meaning to ask...how are those revisions going?

I still remember that piece you shared during DL's blogfest. I loved it.
When you're ready, if you need critique, I'd be happy to help.

Lisa Gail Green said...

Very cute! Except, the laundry one? That's all year for me...

Erinn said...

That's totally my life. I just finished grading a HUGE stack of papers and I'm about to start a new unit. I can't wait to read and do all teh things I like to do.

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Not so much with the shopping and wrapping, but you can add an overabundance of Christmas parties!

Talli Roland said...

Mine's been mental, too. I'm looking forward to some down time, for sure! Hang in there, Jemi. :)

Lisa_Gibson said...

Nice! I hope things settle down for you soon. I can use the time out too. :)

Karen Strong said...

Ha, funny (but true) pictures, Jemi! Especially the laundry one. I'm drowning in it.

But I do love this time of year. Hope that it slows down soon! :)

Susan Fields said...

Great visual aids in this post! My December's been under control so far, but then again, I haven't started the baking yet. :)

L. Diane Wolfe said...

Where's the picture of me completely wiped out and crashed on the floor? That sums up my month so far.

Anonymous said...

Love it! Great pics Jemi.

My Xmas is almost the complete opposite. A very laid-back affair ... Typical of being a kiwi :)

Hope you manage to put your nose in a few books and get some well deserved sleep!

Jemi Fraser said...

Lola - you're such a sweetie! Thank you. I'm actually in full stop at the moment. It's just too much with life right now so I'm putting it all to the side for the moment. I'll let you know... :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Donna - it's been really cold here too for the last few days. 30 below with wind chill the last few days. Brrr. :) Hope you warm up soon!

Jemi Fraser said...

Shannon - me too! It's been wacky busy here lately and sleep is a rare commodity :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Lisa - sadly it is for me too. Laundry is such an annoyance! Why can't the laundry fairies show up once in a while??? :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Erinn - it's amazing how those papers stack up when you're marking. Especially with our board's focus on descriptive feedback. It's a ton of work!!!

Jemi Fraser said...

Alex - sadly, I haven't had a single Christmas party yet! I have one coming up soon though! :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Thanks Talli! I'm sure hoping to not lose my grip on all the balls in the air! Good luck to you too :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Lisa - a time out would be great. My big worry is that the holidays will be even crazier! :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Karen - exactly. I love the holidays - a LOT! It's just a lot of work at the moment :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Susan - I don't know where I'm going to fit in the rest of the baking. I've got a few things done, but not nearly enough. And for some reason the baking seems to keep disappearing! :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Diane - lol! I must have misplaced that picture - I thought I'd included it :) Hope it gets easier soon!

Jemi Fraser said...

Wendy - thanks! I'm really hoping for some time to kick back and relax - but I'm not holding my breath :)

Susan Gourley/Kelley said...

I'm so far behind. I don't have any of those done including getting enough sleep. I can't wait for the peace of Christmas Eve when it's too late to worry about what I've finished and what I haven't.

Jemi Fraser said...

Susan - It's nuts isn't it? I'm so far behind in everything. :) Christmas Eve sounds just about perfect!

Natasha said...

Times like this I am glad we have as many festivals as we do in India. No one festival stresses us out as much as Christmas seems to do you.

Though, if I were you, I would cheat and give gift certificates for my favourite charity as gifts :-)

Laura Pauling said...

Who knew you were a pb artist? :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Rayna - Christmas does becomes a lot of stress. It also holds a lot of fun, but the stress is undeniable. :)

I do the charity gifts often, but I always cave in and buy other things as well :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Laura - lol - thanks!! :)

Terry Stonecrop said...

Fun picture story! Christmas can be hectic.

That's why I have a minimalist holiday. Throw a steak on the barbie. Presents are for kids. I have a deal with all adults, no gift exchanges. Less stress and less, say, leopard skin designer bags that I have no idea what to do with:)

Chris Phillips said...

I like the wrap up in pics. I need more of the last one.

Elana Johnson said...

Quickly. It's going much too quickly. Hope you get more sleep soon! That's what I miss the most.

Jemi Fraser said...

Lee - Now, that's sounds like you've got a lot of fun tossed in there - awesome!! Hope the rest of the month is magical for you :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Terry - what a great idea! If I get a leopard print bag I might vault right into panic mode!!!

Jemi Fraser said...

Thanks Chris - more sleep would be incredible. How do we invent a few extra hours in the day???

Jemi Fraser said...

Elana - It IS zooming by so quickly! I still have tons to do & not much time to do it in!

Shelley Sly said...

I love the pictures! Sounds like you've been incredibly busy. I've been swamped with a long To Do list... can't believe it's only 10 days until Christmas... time needs to slow down!

Jemi Fraser said...

Shelley - thanks! I am totally swamped! It's impossible for Christmas to be only 10 days away. I don't know how I'm going to get it all done!!!

Lydia Kang said...

Trying to squeeze in as much writing as I can (between all the other stuff you listed!).That's my December!

Jemi Fraser said...

Lydia - I have to admit my writing has really suffered in the last week or so. I'm hoping to get more time in over the holidays! :)

RaShelle Workman said...

Jemi - LOL. All of that, plus light socket hair. It's been crazy. It's the holidays. Crazy, but fun. =D

Jemi Fraser said...

RaShelle - love it! I totally agree. Crazy but fun is the perfect description! :)

Velvet Over Steel said...

LOL, mine has been the same! & my hopes for the 2 weeks off over Christmas is the same as yours too. Reading blogs, writing more & catching up on SLEEP.. after next week anyway. :-)

Have a Very Merry Christmas, Jemi!!!
Love & Many Hugs,
Coreen

Its been a bit stressful but all in all we are very blessed and thankful. Our tree is up and presents are bought and wrapped.

Kathi Oram Peterson said...

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I do understand how your December is stacking up. :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Coreen - glad I'm not alone!! :) It's going to be a fun whirlwind of chaos. I hope you have a truly wonderful holiday!! :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Stephen - I still have more shopping to do. It's been lots of fun - but we should have even more of that too!

Jemi Fraser said...

Thanks Kathi - it really has been busy - fun, but busy! :)

Helen Ginger said...

Mine has been shopping and wrapping, addressing and mailing, and decorating. Now I have to meal plan, buy groceries, cook and clean. Remind me again why we love the holidays?

Jemi Fraser said...

Helen - I always feel guilty when people talk about mailing. I stopped sending out Christmas cards a few years ago. And it still makes me sad - but it saves me so much time! I really need to find some more somewhere!

Victoria Dixon said...

This was too much fun and you've given me a GREAT idea for next year's Christmas season. LOL.

I'm afraid I've done a little of all of this and no where NEAR enough of any of it. Sigh.

Alix said...

Brilliant! I love it. My December has been pretty frantic too and I could do with some of that last photo :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Victoria - so glad I could help!! :) LOL

I'm not nearly done either which is the basis for my panic!

Jemi Fraser said...

Alexa - I'm definitely feeling frantic! Sleep has been elusive, but I'm hoping for that to improve!! :)

Anonymous said...

I finished most of my Xmas shopping, but I've fallen behind my writing goals. I can't wait until my holiday begins. :) Then I'll catch up.

Jemi Fraser said...

Medeia - I still have some shopping to do and my writing has ground to a complete halt at the moment. Hoping to correct that soon!

Buttercup said...

I'm with you. I want more of the later pictures, but have spent more time with the earlier ones. The picture of me would be hunched over the computer at work. Looking forward to some long, quiet lazy days and wishing you some, too!

Al said...

Wow your December looks chaotic!

Thank you so much for buying my book.
Hope you enjoy it!

Jemi Fraser said...

Thanks Buttercup! I'm really hoping for some of Garfield's favourite activity soon! :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Al - chaotic is exactly the word for it!! :)

You're welcome - I'm looking forward to the book! Just need to find some time to read! :)

Amie Kaufman said...

Oh, I love it! Thanks for the laugh!

You realise the only way to one up this is to actually do it in heels next year, right?

Carolina M. Valdez Schneider said...

I have put off doing all of these things until the last minute to work on a project, and now I'm running out of time!! Ahhhh!! Our family gathering is TOMORROW at OUR HOUSE! And I'm still not done shopping for nieces and nephews! And I have NOTHING baked! And my house is a mess!!

GAH!!!!!

Sandra said...

You were busy and you definitely deserve all of the fun stuff. Personally, I shooting for you to get some sleep, but that's just because I'm transfering...I'm exhausted!

Patricia Stoltey said...

The only thing that would make my December better is a bit of snow. I'm getting caught up on my To Do List, I've made time for reading and movies and friends, and I'm finally going to catch up on my sleep...starting Sunday.

Jemi Fraser said...

Amie - Yikes! I'm in serious trouble if anyone expects me to do ANYTHING in heels!!! :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Carol - yay - I'm not alone!!! And sadly, misery does indeed love company! I hope you manage to get enough done to make it comfortable for you! Good luck!!!

Jemi Fraser said...

Sandra - me too!! Exhaustion mixed with a scary to-do list is not a good thing! Good luck to us both!

Jemi Fraser said...

Patricia - if you're feeling too caught up, you can always do my last minute shopping and wrapping for me!!! :) Sleep sounds really, really good right now!

Donea Lee said...

Hi Jemi! New to your blog and I love your December montage here. So clever! This looks a lot like my December, so far...except the baking day come tomorrow... :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Donea Lee - Welcome! So glad to meet you :)

I've got a lot more baking to do - and I'm planning on doing a bunch tomorrow too!

Glynis Peters said...

I have a nurses uniform back on, but not for DH's fantasy...lol.

I appear to be nursing seriously ill, recovering elderly family and friends all through December.

Enjoy the festive season and have a healthy New Year.

Jemi Fraser said...

Glynis - lol - you might just fulfill a lot of fantasies wearing that outfit!! :)

I hope your family members and friends are better soon and that you have a wonderful Christmas season!!

notesfromnadir said...

I don't envy the amount of laundry you seem to be doing! You sure have a busy December & I hope you get a chance to do a little reading & writing.

Good news -- I finished my Christmas shopping yesterday & it's such a relief. Usually I wait 'til 12/24! :)

Have a very Merry Christmas!

Julie Musil said...

Big smiles from me on those pictures. And hey, how did you get a cartoon of my laundry room? Did my boys post that picture on youtube?

Jemi Fraser said...

Notes from Nadir - I'm so jealous! I'm not quite done that shopping yet. Close, but not quite there. Then of course that means more wrapping! :)

Have a wonderful holiday!

Jemi Fraser said...

Julie - I'm not going to tattle on your boys! But.... maybe :) Isn't it awful how the laundry just never seen to end!!!

Unknown said...

Hilarious!! That sounds exactly like me!! I don't think I need to add anything else!

I love the Toronto Maple Leafs ornament. Growing up in Michigan, now I want a Red Wings ornament. Have a great holiday!

Jemi Fraser said...

Thanks Stephen! My mom would probably want one of those Detroit ornaments too - she's always been a wings fan - mostly to drive my dad nuts because he was a HUGE Leafs fan :)
