Liar Society by Lisa & Laura Roecker
Fabulous mystery story of a teen who refuses to stop hunting for the truth behind the death of her best friend. When said best friend sends her an email a year AFTER her death telling her to keep looking and to find the answers, the plot more than thickens. It boils and simmers and bubbles! Secret societies, teen romance, and more than a little mystery! Frawesome!!

Return the Heart by TK Richardson
Great story of a teen who has a gift of reading people's hearts and knowing who they really are. This makes her a bit quiet and shy, until she meets up with other teens who recognize her power because they have similar ones of their own. Cue the kidnapping, mayhem, Russian mobs and CIA and you've got a fun, fast paced adventure with a touch of romance. Love it!

The Keepers of Sulbreth by Susan Gourley
A terrific fantasy adventure set in a unique world where 2 people who would rather not be heroes are thrust into that role. All kinds of fast paced adventure in this one! LOVE the world Susan's created too - very detailed and believable. Awesome!
Those are a few of the blog buddy books I've recently read and enjoyed! How about you? What's been a great read recently?
PS - I'm posting today over at From the Write Angle about book trends I see in my classroom. Please pop on over and check it out. I'm terrified no one will come - so take pity on me please! I'll send everyone virtual chocolate chip cookies -- Thanks! :)

I hadn't heard of the bottom two. I just finished reading Savvy and Cracked up to Be. Both older books but I loved them both.
Laura - they're both fun reads. I don't know either one of the 2 you listed. Thanks for the tips! :)

Thanks Jemi! I'm so glad you like Return the Heart. :)
I'm going to have to check out these other books now, too. They sound great and I'm looking for something new to read.

Take care

I discovered a new to me author when I was reading contest entries for the Daphne--but I can't tell you what it was, because the judging is confidential!
I also found some new authors at Left Coast Crime. I'm reading "The Sex Club" by LJ Seller (and no, it's not an erotic romance; it's a police procedural mystery) and Detachment Fault, by Susan Cummins Miller.

I have The Liar Society, and the other two look intriguing. You visit my blog, so you know what I'm reading. ;)
Medeia - I do! You find so many interesting books! And you read some tough stuff that I'm just not able to cope with :)
Great reads, Jemi - I'm adding all three to my to-read list at Goodreads! Now popping over to read your post at From the Write Angle!
Belle - they were all fun reads! I really have to join Goodreads one of these days, but there's just no extra time! Thanks so much for visiting FTWA! :)
Love these covers! I am trying to read only what I write at this time which isn't mystery or fantasy. But these look so good I wonder if I should cheat this month!

There are just so many fun books out there to read :)
Hi Jemi,
Yes, it's me, shy and humble me, visiting from my unassuming site:)
How's it goin' eh? :)
A very interesting selection of books you have here. And TK Richardson is a superb writer who has kindly graced my rather unknown blog, a few times.
All the best...I'm outta' here.....
Hi Gary! It's going great, eh! :P
TK's terrific & I really enjoyed her characters - the whole concept behind her book is very cool!
See ya!
Oh no, what have I done? My poor email system will 'blow up' because you are so popular and when I switch on my computer tomorrow, it will be 'Jemi, Jemi, Jemi', whilst all I will probably get is some email comment on my blog trying to sell me detergent or something like that...
Oh great, I publish this comment and I will then be able to read my comment on my email account an so on and on and on....:)
Gary - LOL :)
And let the loop begin again! It's Monday, so maybe it'll be slower than some other days!!
Well, if it's a slow day, you could always visit my shy and humble site and click on the photos of the wonderful and peaceful 'wee folks':)
Just a thought...
Gary - I will - I'm just finishing up editing this scene & then I'll be out and about! :)
Thanks Jemi. That's very kind of you. Good luck with editing your scene :) Yikes, must dash back to my email account. And just think of all the hits you are getting on your site from England. That would be the hits on your site that indicates I live 31 miles away from myself. Very weird :)
Gary - The world of stats kind of boggles my brain (I very rarely look!) - but it might be fun to see how you live 31 miles away from yourself! :)
Ooo. Return The Heart sounds like a way cool premise!
Jennifer - it really is! TK did a great job of developing the plot lines too! :)
I can't wait to read Liar Society! Right now I'm reading The Hating Game by Talli Roland - a blog buddy. It's out of my genre, but really good!
Susan - you'll love it! Such a great teen mystery! :)
I read Talli's book a few months ago - loved it! I liked the combination of humour and romance and stress! :)
I just started Stephen King's On Writing. The first half is his autobography and the second half is about writing. Great stuff so far.
Jemi - Can't wait for Liar Society it's on my short list. I just finished ACROSS THE UNIVERSE which I loved.
Stephen - King's book gets so many great reviews. The man really is a master both when writing and when explaining how he writes! :)
Lisa - you'll love Liar Society! I've got Across the Universe on my TBR pile - have to get to it!!! :)
I have The Liar Society - must read it soon. I did just finish an Amanda Hocking novel, Switched. It was good, quick pace and fun idea.
Wagging Tales - Blog for Writers
I'm really looking forward to Liar Society--just getting onto it now. I haven't heard of the other two, but they sound right up my street, so thanks!
I haven't heard of the bottom two books, either, but I have TLS on my list!
LIAR is definitely on my list.
Right now, I'm reading CLARITY by Kim Harrison and enjoying it.
I haven't come across any of these, so thanks for sharing.
They sound like really good reads. Our book group often read YA novels as we're all children's/YA writers and so I'm going to recommend these books for some of our future meetings. Thanks.
Charmaine - you'll enjoy it! :)
I haven't read any of Amanda's books yet - they sound good - I'll have to check this one out!
Amie - I bet you'll enjoy it. Hope you enjoy the others as well! :)
Talli - you'll love Kate in TLS - I think she's your kind of character! :)
Karen - I've seen Clarity - it sounds terrific!
Glynis - you're welcome - hope you find something you enjoy!
Rosalind - I hope you enjoy them - I found them lots of fun :)
Hi Jemi! I'm SOO sorry! I owed you a copy of The Liar Society, but not taking international shipping into consideration...I've been meaning to e-mail you and ask if I could just e-mail you an Amazon gift cert. instead. Is this ok? I'll e-mail it off today, promise! Glad you got your own copy, at any rate, and enjoyed the book! :)
Donea - no worries! International shipping is CRAZY!!!
Whatever you decide is fine - as I said, no problem! It really is a terrific book!
I just finished Liar Society too! I loved it.... I also just finished Some Kind of Normal by Heidi Willis, it was awesome. I'm reading Possession by Elana Johnson now.

Hope you enjoy the cookies!
Those all sound like fun reads. I'm about to start High Tide by Ann Summerville.

I've heard of Summerville's work, but haven't read her stuff yet - I'll check it out -thanks for the tip :)
Both these are on my list to read..oh for more time!
Awesome. Thanks for the suggestions. I haven't read any of those, so I'll have to get my hands on copies.

They sound like great books! :)
Golden Eagle - they are - I enjoyed them all :)
I love hearing about new books that I didn't know about. Thanks for the reviews.
Lately, FANTASTIC books I've read by buddies are:
How Lamar's Bad Prank Won a Bubba-Sized Trophy by Crystal Allen
Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys
Illegal by Betinna Restrepo
Haven by Kristi Cook
Warped by Maurissa Guilbord
(I'm also REALLY loving Kelley Armstrong's new release, The Gathering. I would like to say she's a buddy, but I guess just because we're both Canadian doesn't make it so.)
Terry - really??? I'm sure being Canadian automatically makes us all buddies! :)
I'm going to have to check those out - the title of the first one is awesome!!
My hair is pinkified and I still haven't read The Liar Society.
Theresa - you're going to love it! I love the support the blogging world gave to LiLa! It was such fun :) I de-pinked a little while ago, but it was fun!
I like reading about business. it's a complicated and always stressful field. I suppose it's a big deal to be successful there. Also, it's necessary to delegate your responsibilities. By the waty I recommend you to read about what Andy Warhol’s images created from celebrities are portrayed through mass-produced
