Steampunk Your Wardrobe & a Winner!

I'm SO excited!!!

My incredibly multi-talented crit buddy Calista Taylor has another new book out. This one is a craft book called Steampunk Your Wardrobe published by Fox Chapel Publishing. Calista made all the crafts, figured out the lighting, took the photos and wrote the instructions & the commentary! (See what I mean about multi-talented?)

Amazon has sent me an email informing me that my pre-order is delayed ... because there's not enough in stock. How cool is that????

Although... I am VERY annoyed I don't have my copy yet. *sigh*

Calista also has several novels out and about - and they are fabulous!
  • Jack - A Grim Reaper Romance is a very cool story based on the Jack the Ripper legends ... and so much more!
  • One Last Kiss is a prequel to Jack and is a Grim Reaper Romance as well. It's also FREE
  • Virdis - a Steampunk Romance & Mystery is also FREE!
  • Devil on a Sparrow's Wing - part 2 in the Virdis series
If you like crafts, fashion, and/or steampunk, this is definitely a book you have to have!!

How about you? Any interest in branching out into both fiction and nonfiction? What's your specialty?

***
I used a very scientific method to choose a winner from my previous post. I hollered down the stairs and asked my kids to choose a number. And the winner is...

Sharon K Mayhew!!! Yay!!!

Congratulations & I'll forward your name to Shelli! :)

no non-fiction for me, aside from the occasional essay. I like to escape into some place that isn't real too much :)

Jemi, thank you so much for your kind words!! I hope you'll like it!! : )

Ms H - I do love my fiction too!!

Cali - you're so very welcome and I know I LOVE it!! :)

Congrats to Sharon!

I can see why this book is a big hit! I just watched a special the other day about how there are steampunk parties where people dress in costumes. Fascinating!

I think it is fiction for me- but I do love pets so maybe I could do a non-fiction book about animals. :)

Jess - steampunk really is a lot of fun!! I prefer fiction too - but I do have this idea that refuses to go away... :)

If I were a non-fiction writer I'd be writing about nature. In fact, I had an idea some years ago that I never quite developed beyond an outline, but I could probably pull it off...Maybe it's time.

Jemi Fraser said...

Sharon - Congrats!!! I think Cali's book is going to make a lot of people happy at Christmas :)

Jeff - maybe it is! I've got an idea I'd like to develop, but I'd need to build a whole new platform and I'm not up to that!!

Thanks for the links.

Calista's non-fiction looks cool.

I don't see myself writing a non-fiction book.

Congrats to Sharon on winning yesterday's book.

Cali blows me away. The idea of having to take photos for a book gives me hives! (Well, not literally.) Wow. My book hasn't arrived yet, but no email either... I'm hoping Amazon and UPS will have it for me by the weekend.

Congrats on the book release, Calista!

Jemi Fraser said...

Medeia - I can't wait to see the final version - it looks awesome! :)

Your method of selecting a winner is lots more fun than using random.org. My kids are all grown up, so I'll have to figure out something my cat can do...or my husband. :D

Rosalind Adam said...

She certainly sounds like a really talented lady. My only visit into nonfiction was my Children's History of Leicester that gave me the chance to use my History qualifications... But I still love fiction writing best of all.

Jemi Fraser said...

Pat - I bet your kitty could have some fun with papers! :)

Rosalind - Cali is so talented! She's writing a contemporary romance that is terrific too! :)

That book looks like such fun! I have written & sold short nonfiction articles, but I vastly prefer writing fiction.

Jemi Fraser said...

Tara - LOL :) My book just arrived late Friday and it is BEAUTIFUL!! :)

Ruth - me too! I do have a few nonfictions floating around, but fiction is my heart :)

Golden Eagle said...

I love Steampunk. That sounds like a fun book. :)

I've written some nonfiction (for my eagle website) and, of course, fiction. I like both for different reasons--non-fiction is more technical and requires research, but creating new things in fiction is enjoyable.

Jemi Fraser said...

Golden EAgle - my copy came in late Friday and it is BEAUTIFUL!!! Cali did a fabulous job :)

I like nonfiction too - but I've never tried writing any of it for publication ... yet :)
