Twitter Hashtags Part 2

I'm over at From the Write Angle today talking more about Twitter Hashtags that are useful for writers.

I remember joining twitter and signing up for a blog one afternoon a couple of summers ago. I had NO idea what I was doing on either front. Fun times! Eventually I made sense of blogging - tweeting took me a little longer. TweetDeck & TweetChat helped me enormously. Do you use either of those applications? How do you make sense of tweeting?

I'm thinking there will be one more post in November in the series. Any tags you think would be useful to share? Hope you'll pop on over and visit!

I've yet to make sense of tweeting but thanks for trying to educate me!

Twitter is fun. Hashtags commenting on live events, like the presidential debates, are a lot more fun than the actual events sometimes!

Eventually twitter made more sense. I enjoy connecting with my friends the most and meeting new ones. I also like the helpful links other people tweet. :)

Yvonne - you're welcome! Like all the other social medias, it's not for everyone - but I like it for the quick & fun aspect :)

Dianne - you're so right! I know a fair amount about US politics from the tweets!! :)

Laura - #agreed!! I talk about quite a few of those today & one of them last week. So many!!

I'm getting better at Twitter, but I'm still not 100 percent sure I'm doing hashtags right. Following them, I mean... ahh... must spend more time on this SM site... :D <3

Old Kitty - it's not for everyone! We really do have to find what works for us :)

Leigh - it took me quite a while to get to where I feel comfortable with how I'm using twitter. TweetDeck made all the difference for me!! :)

I do love hashtags :)

I need to do better on Twitter. I tend to let it go for weeks at a time.

Hashtags can be fun--I tend to make up some silly ones. The real ones I stick to are #amwriting and #amediting.

Jemi Fraser said...

Michelle - me too - they're a lot of fun! :)

Susan - that's one of the joys of twitter, I think. There's no pressure to keep up any schedule - so when you pop in, it's the right time! :)

Stephanie - they are fun! I use both of those all the time and then some silly ones just for fun! :)

I know I'm not using Twitter to its fullest potential. Some day I'll ramp it up.

Tweetdeck slowed down for me, so I just use Twitter on the web. I haven't been in a chat in a while, so I'll have to figure something out if I join one.

Jemi Fraser said...

Leslie - me neither! But I think one of the best things about twitter is that it doesn't punish you for backing off for a bit!

Medeia - I can't even imagine using twitter if I didn't have tweetdeck!!

still haven't started using hashtags, I think I'm not hip enough for that :)

Dezzy - you're hip enough for anything!!! :)

Nas - thanks!!

I love Twitter, but it does take some time to get used to it and navigate your way around it! I've met some great people there.

Jemi Fraser said...

Talli - it seemed to take me months to get the hang of it! I've met a ton of great people there too :)

I've still never recovered from them messing with Tweetdeck! I don't tweet as often and I love Twitter! :( I'll get back to figuring it out eventually.

Jemi Fraser said...

Lisa - it took me a while to get the swing of things too - I'm not always a fan of updates and 'improvements'!!!

Hey Jemi,

Excellent and I'm going to tweet and then retweet your posting. Whatever that means! :)

Shall endeavour to pop over and see what's happening, eh.

Yikes, was that more than 140 characters? Oops.....

Gary :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Gary - teehee! Careful with those characters - woudln't want to run out!! :)

I'm not on twitter, facebook, linked in, or anything (just one, hardly ever updated blog). I guess I just don't need more white noise in my life? Don't know.

Oops, posted 4x... sorry Jemi!

Jemi Fraser said...

Agnes - that's okay - blogger's been multiplying a lot today! :) I think we all need to limit that social media buzz in our lives! :)

I still have so much to learn about twitter! I will have to pop over to your post.

Jess - thanks! Hope it helps - twitter can be a wild and confusing place! :)
