About 2 weeks ago, someone in my immediate family was involved in an accident. Injuries required him to be airlifted out of town to a larger hospital with specialists. Thanks to these specialists, my family member will recover and be good as new after some time, care, and rehab.
The air ambulance's regulations allowed me to accompany him along with one small carry-on bag for both of our needs. The stay of a few days extended to almost 2 weeks. I did have my cell phone with me, but it absolutely refused to deal with more than one email account - and sometimes refused to deal with even that. Because of that I've been completely out of contact with all my author emails and social media accounts.
I'll catch up over the next little while as time allows, although it's going to be even more chaotic than normal for a while.
Now, tell me what I've missed!

Yikes! Sounds like the prognosis is good, I'm glad to hear that.
Hope your family member is okay. I remember being with my late husband at the hospital in San Antonio for three weeks. It was so scary because he needed major surgery. Hope you are trying to take care of yourself. I know it's hard.

Wow! What an experience. Living in an urban area as I do we are close to several good hospitals. In fact just a couple of weeks ago I had to drive myself to the ER with several abdominal pain that wouldn't go away. It was diagnosed as diverticulitis and the antibiotics they prescribed worked wonders in short order. Still, going to the hospital is not fun whether you are the patient or otherwise.

I'm glad you've got that situation under control! We do have a good hospital right in town, but because of the small city nature, we don't have as many of the experts as we would like. :)
