September 4 question - If you could pick one place in the world to sit and write your next story, where would it be and why?
There are so many great places where I'd love to write...
- outdoors under the Northern Lights
- a sidewalk cafe in Paris
- a balcony overlooking Tokyo or NYC at night
- a comfy chair dropped into the middle of the Serengeti or the green rolling hills of Scotland
- a gondola in Venice or a whale-watching boat in the ocean
- a beach Down Under

Pick Scotland over the Serengeti. You're less likely to be eaten by Nessie than by a lion.

Hi, Jemi, you live right around the corner...almost...from me. LOL. I have relatives by Midland, nestled around Georgian Bay. I also love writing outdoors.
Yes to all of these perfect places to write. Fall colored trees are my favorite!
Scotland is definitely the place to stay, but the forests in Ontario (or in northern Michigan) are gorgeous, and definitely writing-worthy.

If I was under the Northern Lights, I wouldn't be able to write. I'd be looking up the whole time.
In the end, we probably write best where we are. After all we must love it or we wouldn't spend most of our time there.

The Serengeti (which sounds like a gourmet pasta) for me. I suspect reading would temporarily be replaced with gawking though. Which is fine.
I would just like anywhere where I could find some peace and quiet, and not be distracted too much!
I love absolutely every single place you picked! Have you ever read Harry's Trees? Your tree house idea reminded me of it as the main character lives in fantastical tree house!
I've always wanted a tree since I read Swiss Family Robinson as a kid :)

Hello....i have always wanted to be a writer. I have great ideas on books but my mind jumps from this to that and I don't think a book will ever be something I will pull off....however just recently started submitting articles for a local magazine. I am excited my first one will come out in Nov. This is a cool group.

It is! We're surrounded by houses, but this view is less than 10 minutes drive from my house!
Northern Lights . . . How cool would that be? But, on an average day, I'm with you. I love sitting outdoors with a nice breeze, hearing the leaves chitchat and the branches stretch their limbs.
