Have you "played" with AI to write those nasty synopses, or do you refuse to go that route? How do you feel about AI's impact on creative writing?Nope.
AI is not for me.
I do this job because I love words and stories. I love playing with words and stories. I have no desire to turn any of that over to a machine - not even for blurbs.
I know a lot of people have played with AI and use it to help them with the non-creative tasks. Still, not for me.
Sadly, I think there will be plenty of scammers willing to take advantage of AI to make themselves money at the expense of humans who are trying to make a living from their creativity and art.
I prefer to do my own work.

I probably won't be using it for anything either. Sadly I think people are already using it to produce stories.
A hearty AMEN! I completely agree with you so thank you. All the robotic A.I. helps is those who could never write in the first place. Hopefully we will always be able to tell the difference.
I doubt I'll ever use it, either.

People are already using it to produce short stories and books. Ugh, scammers. In the case of online magazines, it's making their job harder and it makes it harder for us who are actually creating (meanwhile, the mags can tell these are bad AI writing submissions and rejecting them anyway - I wonder why people think they can make a quick buck in the short story market...).
It's a personal decision whether to use Al or not. I use it at work all the time, and it does cut down the time I spend writing articles, but they still have my words in them.
Yes, you're right. [sigh] Some unscrupulous people (I hesitate to call them writers) already employ AIs to write their books, publish those books, and get paid for them. And none of those people is concerned with ethics or quality.
Not really for me either. Even if it was something I wanted to do, I don't have time right now to learn how it works.
I'm with you. I wonder how long before AI books start to take the spot of human-written books.
I do the writing on my own but I do like to brainstorm new ideas or directions for research with an AI. The one I use is pretty chunky, though. :-)

I prefer humans to AI. I haven't used AI to write anything- but I know that there are a lot of people who use it all the time.

I'm with you. No, thank you. I don't even want to use it for blurbs/synopses/outlines. I hate that it's been developed to steal from creatives instead of to solve real problems.

I haven't tried AI for any writing tasks as it often feels like I'd spend just as much time figuring out what prompts to put in as I would just writing whatever it is I need written. That's not to say I won't ever give AI a shot at annoying tasks, but it's low on my priority list.
I love the possibilities of AI Jemi. I suspect down the track, most authors will use it somehow. My students taught me how to use it. Clever clogs.
