The Truth Will Out

Well, that was fun! Thanks for all the comments and guesses about my Bald Faced Liar Creative Writer post. It was fun to write. So to the truth...

I was kind of stumped on lies, so I decided to take a few outrageous truths from some family members and mix them in with my truth & other lies. They seemed to do the trick :)

My best friend when I was younger wrote for (and got) the Donny Osmond photo. Sadly, I was jealous!

My mom ate candles growing up - the doctor said she obviously needed something in them and to let her keep doing it. They weren't scented, but still... yuck!

I painted my sister and her boyfriend blue for a Halloween dance one year - they made great Smurfs!
And my truth was... I paid under $150 for my wedding outfit - shoes, dress, headpiece & all. Love Discount Stores :)

Now I'd like to thank a few more friends for some blog awards. Thanks to Michele Emrath over at Southern City Mysteries for awarding me the Blogger Purrfection Award. Michele's got a great blog with an awesome new template. Check it out!

Medeia Sharif awarded me the Silver Lining Award. Medeia has a great blog focussing on YA - lots of great stuff for you to check out :)

Wendy Morrell aka Quillfeather at her blog Musings from Down Under awarded me the From Me to You (aka the Picasso Award). Wendy's blog starts with an amazing photo and gets better from there. You'll enjoy it - trust me.

I'm going to break the rules and just pass along the awards without revealing anything else about myself. Hold the applause :)

I'll leave it up to each of you to choose which award you'd like - hopefully there's one here you haven't received yet! So I hereby pass along the awards to:
Simone at the Romantic Query Letter
Shelli at Market My Words
Shannon at Book Dreaming
Kristi at RAW - Random Acts of Writing
Indigo at Shattered Prose
Mason at Thoughts in Progress
VR at VR Barkowski: A Pre-Pub Writer's Blog
Suzette over at Shooting Stars

I hope everyone will check out the links of these fantastic people. You won't be disappointed!

Congrats on all the awards, Jemi. You and your blog deserve them. And thanks for thinking of me! I love cats and I don't have that award yet. :-)

Thanks Shannon! You're welcome - the cat one is really cute - hope you enjoy it!!

Love it you purchased your wedding dress for under $150.00! To spend more than that (in my humble opinion) is a misuse of money that could be spent much more wisely on... wine...deposit on a house...wine....perhaps a wardrobe full of new boots...wine...furniture for the new house...

Great post, Jemi, and thank you for the kind words:)

Your mother ate candles? Yuck! I think I'd eat grass or PlayDough first.

Jemi Fraser said...

Diane - I totally agree - but she grew up in WWII and didn't get enough of something in her limited diet. She was about 2 at the time. Pretty yucky!

Congrats on your awards! I love Two Truths & A Lie- I play it with my students on the first day of school.

Jemi Fraser said...

Thanks Stephanie - It's a great game to play. The kids love it and it makes them think because some of their peers know them pretty well :)

Don't know whether to congratulate you on your awards or on the fact you purchased your wedding ensemble for under $150. Brava! :)

Yay! Thank you so much for the award! I, too, will take the Blogger Purrfection in honor of my very, very sick kitty who has always loved to snuggle next to a warm computer monitor.

Jemi Fraser said...

VR - LOL :) Thanks - for both!

You're welcome. I hope the kitty feels better soon - sick pets make for lots of sad people.

Thanks Dawn! I don't think it's so much I'm a great shopper - it's much more likely that I'm extremely cheap!! :)

Yikes, Jemi, forgive me for taking awhile to say THANK YOU for giving me an award! It's a hard choice between the two... hmmmmm... think I will stew on it awhile. I will link to you on my blog next week. :)
