Wonky Connections

It has been a frustrating few days. On Wednesday night, our Internet connection went down late at night. We figured it was just one of those things.

When I returned home from work on Thursday, still no Internet. Called the company, they couldn't do it from their end. Someone would come Friday after I got home from work. He came, but couldn't fix it properly because of the time frame. He's coming back Sunday. If it takes too long, he'll come again on Monday. He's put in a temporary fix, but it's sporadic.

Really hard. Really, really hard. I hadn't realized it would be this hard. But the guilt!! I check a lot of blogs. I couldn't read and respond to all of my regulars - so I apologize if I missed you. I was able to do a few at work after the kids left, but the filters block a LOT of blogs. There's no access to email there either.

So, if I don't respond to comments in a timely manner, sorry! I'll pick it up when it works again.

On another note, I've got a few more awards to accept :) You folks are truly the best!!

Helen Ginger over at Straight from Hel (which may be the best blog name ever!) awarded me the Circle of Friends Award. Love this award and the message it conveys - I've made so many friends through this forum :) Thanks so much Helen! Helen's blog is chock full of helpful and fun information for us writers. Pop on over to meet her.

Carolina Valdez Miller over at Carol's Prints awarded me the Quillfeather Award - isn't he cute! Carol's blog is hilarious and fun - if you haven't met her yet - pop on over quickly!! This award requires me to share the way I prefer my eggs (cheese & mushroom omelette thank you very much!) and to pass it along to seven Cool Chicks. I'm also to remind you to keep his hutch clean & tidy and to ensure he has enough grain and water! :) Thanks so much, Carol!

I'll save the rest for next time. So, without further ado, I'd like to pass these awards on to...

Anne Spollen at Anne Spollen Author's Blog
Nicole at One Significant Moment at a Time
Arlee Bird at Tossing it Out (I'm not calling you a Chick, Lee!!)
Laurel Gaver at Laurel's Leaves
Michelle Dennis Evans
Roxy at A Woman's Write
DL Hammons at Cruising Altitude (I know you're not a Chick either!!)
Lisa Gibson at Random Thoughts to String Together

As per usual, these are No Pressure Awards. Choose whichever you prefer, and pass along (or not) as you see fit! Just know that I appreciate you & your blogs.

Enjoy checking out these blogs everyone. You'll meet some really fabulous folks :)

Well, Jemi, thanks for laying these awards on me. And I have never minded being in the company of some fine chicks. Besides if I'm not mistaken, the bird in the picture is a rooster isn't it? So I guess I'll be crowing about this award in my next Saturday post, which is where I've grown accustomed to placing these of late.

Hope you get your internet back to normal. What a nightmare! I've been lucky so far. It went down a few times here of late with the rain we've been having, but only for short periods.

Have a great week!
Lee

Congrats on the awards, Jemi! And yes, teh internet fasts are teh suxor, fo sho. (Especially unintended fasts. AAaaahhh!!!!)

Lee - I believe it is a rooster, but my farming-type knowledge is severely limited, so I'm not at all sure!!

I'm hoping once they update the cables, we'll be back to normal. It is HARD!

Oh, how terrible to be without the internet! I get jumpy when my kids just borrow my internet for a few minutes. Sorry you've been having technical difficulties. Thank you for the awards, Jemi. You are very generous!

Simon - thanks!!

Yup, internet fasting is not fun!

Roxy - I feel kind of pathetic, but it's been awful!!

You're so welcome - enjoy :)

Congratulations on the awards, well deserved. Internet is a wonderful thing as long as it works and when it doesn't oh my. Good luck.

Being without the internet is so hard. I hope you're up and running again, soon. And congrats on the awards! :)

Being without the internet stinks. And then I get so much other stuff done I feel guilty about how much time I usually spend on the Internet. :)

My school just blocked Blogger altogether. Totally rude. :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Mason - thanks so much! It's amazing how attached I am to something that didn't exist when I was a kid :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Thanks TK!

I hope so too - it's really frustrating! I feel like I have to drop whatever I'm doing when it's working! :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Lindsey - totally agree! It's amazing how time disappears when I'm online!

I hope my school doesn't do that! I rarely use it at school, but it helped a bit this week :)

Now that's what I call a masculine award!!! I bet all the ladies are squirming over that one. Cock of the walk. Heh heh heh. Congrats to you Jemi...and thank you so much for passing it along to me.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Jemi Fraser said...

DL - yes - much better for you than that ole Sugar Doll award :)

Thanks - have fun - & enjoy the rest of the weekend!!

Thanks so much for the awesome award!! I hope your Internet issues are quickly resolved. Technology is great when it works, but when it doesn't...life gets turned upside-down. Hang in there!!

I hope the tech gets itself all settled around soon :)

I need my computer to communicate. I would go nuts if I lost my connection. Hope everything got fixed properly. (Hugs)Indigo

Jemi Fraser said...

Thanks Indigo! Me too - although it's more for fun for me. Given the choice, I'd take the glitches over you any day :)

How frustrating. I hope it all gets fixed soon.

Jemi Fraser said...

Thanks Kerrie - believe me when I say I'm crossing everything I can cross!

I just got the rooster today too- he's pretty cute!

I don't know what I'd do without internet. I suppose I'd probably get some quality work done on my MS! :)

Oh....when I don't have internet, it's a bad, bad day! Hope the rest of your weekend goes well!

VR - Thanks :)

And, yup! The guy at the top expresses my feelings very well!

Jemi Fraser said...

Michelle - Thanks & you're so very welcome! Glad to help out :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Stephanie - thanks! He is a cutie :)

My big problem is during the week, I generally don't have enough time to get any quality time in on the ms, so it was tough!

Jemi Fraser said...

Thanks Elizabeth - it's been a good couple of days for Canada at the Olympics so that's helped! And the big hockey game is today :)

Sorry about the internet Jemi! That SUCKS. I hope everything worked out today!

Hi Sara - it's still temporary & sporadic - but hopefully soon it'll be permanent!

Sorry to hear about your internet connection, Jemi. It's like having ones arms chopped off. I know. I'm on dial-up, which at times isn't even worth having. It's taken me over an hour to leave a comment!

Congrats on your awards honey.

PS. Love the Quillfeather Award. Just saying.... :)

Jemi Fraser said...

Wendy - it's been bizarre without it - that's for sure! Dial up drove me batty when we had it - don't know how you stand it!! With kids in school & needing to do research we had to go cable.

I thought of you immediately with the award :)

Eeleen Lee said...

Lee - very good point! I'm lucky to have crit buddies who are both honest and helpful :)
